Moor Park Golf Day raises £14,350 donation

The annual Charity Golf Day at Moor Park Golf Club brought 92 golfers together on August 20th for fine weather and fair greens to raise over £14,350 for Harrow MS Therapy Centre.

Various side competitions were run during the course of the day — “Nearest the rope”, “Nearest the pin”, “Beat the pro” — with the additional advantage of the option to buy two mulligans. (For the non-golfers among us, a mulligan allows a player to have a second chance at a certain shot.)

The evening was rounded off with an excellent three-course dinner laid on by the golf club, with an exciting auction of varied lots: ladies’ final day at Wimbledon, a flying lesson, rounds of golf, fine art paintings — all of which attracted keen bidding to raise £2,645, pushing the total raised on the day over £14,350.

An enormous thank you to Sarah and Bob Jolliffe for organising this annual event, originally set up by one of our founder physiotherapists, Terrie Sutton. Now in its 23rd year, it has become one of our most reliable sources of large donation.

Thanks also to Barclays Bank plc who matched the funds raised in the competitions held throughout the day and helped with the auction.
