Monday September 23rd marks the beginning of the end of an era, as deputy manager Helen McConnon enters her final week at the Centre.
Helen started working with us in February 1995 as a physiotherapy assistant; as the Centre grew she took on the mantle of deputy manager.
This role has encompassed many different and challenging tasks, most of which revolved around the smooth operation of the oxygen chamber, scheduling sessions for members and ensuring there were sufficient operators, as well as making sure we never ran out of milk!
Helen’s friendly voice has often been the first many of our members will have heard when they made that tentative, initial phone call. And new staff were taken under her Mother Hen wing!
On behalf of everyone, our thanks to Helen for her unfailing cheerfulness over the past 18 years. Our love and best wishes go with her in her new ventures.
We plan to give Helen a great send off, with cakes galore all this coming week.
If any members not scheduled to come to the Centre would like to call in to add your good wishes to ours, please do so!
