The Pamper Day last weekend was our busiest yet, raising over £1300 during a splendid day of indulgence and effort.
The students of Image Salon at Harrow College worked hard to make their clients feel special, with their tutors were on hand to ensure the finished products were top class, while other specialist therapists were also much in demand. In all, some 26 therapists and stylists provided over 90 treatments for eager participants.
Hair lecturer Ellie and her seven-strong Hair Team shampooed, cut and styled in the well-equipped hair salon, while in the two therapy rooms, more students worked on hands, feet, faces, heads, necks and shoulders under the watchful eye of Coron Zammito, Curriculum Manager for Hair and Beauty.
Other therapists, some well-known to us from previous Pamper Evenings at the Centre, were also much in demand. Indian Head massage, reflexology and Reiki were practised in a calm, music-filled atmosphere, redolent with the scent of oils and lotions.
There was a raffle with prizes donated by Sally Fay-George, one of the Centre therapists (a relaxing break in the Cotswolds), the Image Salon (beauty packs, hair dryer) and our own Harrow MS Therapy Centre members.
The popular “Guess the Weight of the Cake” competition is still ongoing this week at the College — we are very grateful for Coron’s mother and friend for their impressive cake-making and decorating skills!
Courtesy of Jerry Ridout (Chair of Trustees) and Gill O’Brien (Chair of Fundraising Committee) there was a lucky dip, and refreshments with suitably caloric cakes.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Coron and all the staff involved — Sladzhana, Jenny (who won top raffle prize, lucky her!) and Suzanna — for organising and publicising the event, taking bookings beforehand and ensuring all went smoothly on the day.
A final word of gratitude to Harrow College for generously allowing the use of their premises, especially to Steve from Security who moved tables, chairs and anything else required.
