The Pamper Evening held at the Centre on Wednesday 20 March was a sparkling success, ably assisted by the glasses of bubbly on offer, courtesy of Gill, to people as they came through the door — thanks Gill! The evening brought in a respectable sum of £623 in total.
Our thanks go to Nita for organising the evening and persuading the therapists once again to give up their evening relaxing in front of the TV (or in the case of our ever-popular and much in demand Indian Head massage therapist Ajay, cooking dinner) and come along, donating their time for free.
All were fully-booked as people had their hands manicured and various parts of their bodies massaged with hot stones, lotions and oils. Also on offer and taken up with interest were reflexology and numerology (when the perceived connection between various significant numbers and events in people’s lives is explained).
Thanks also to Nita’s family for the lovely refreshments — especially Sheena’s delicious homemade biscuits (maybe she’ll give us the recipe?).
All in all, another success story for the Centre, where we strive constantly to blend fund-raising and pleasure.
