It’s Carers Week from June 10 to 16, a UK-wide annual awareness campaign to improve the lives of carers and the people they care for. According to the MS Society, three quarters of people with MS will rely on care and support from family and friends at some point.
With 100,000 people with MS in the UK, there could be at least 75,000 people caring for someone with MS, although they may not define themselves as carers at all, if they are also relatives or close friends.
Carers Week is to help these people recognise themselves as carers, to access all available support they otherwise may know get. There are several events taking place in Harrow organised by Harrow Carers.
